We have extensive knowledge and experience of most manufacturers of all types of equipment for the petrochemical, process plant, pharmaceutical, power, brewing industries etc., and can give advice regarding the appropriate sourcing to meet you requirements.
We can give you an independent assessment of a manufacturer’s technical competence and current details regarding delivery performance and work loading to enable “you” to make the best choice of manufacturer.
We can further enhance the service you can give to your client, by being your representative at a manufacturer and ensuring you get the delivery you want by utilising the service of our expediting engineers.
We have vast experience in the expediting of major and minor capital projects, breakdowns, planned maintenance events for a wide range of clients including ICI (UK, Holland, Far Eastern, Belgium, Australia, USA, Argentina), AstraZeneca, EVC, DuPont, BP Chemicals, SembCorp, Kvaener, Roche Products, Welsh Water, Tioxide Europe, Rhone-Poulenc, Great Lakes Chemical, Elf Oil UK, AECI, Hydro Polymers, Irish Fertiliser Ind., British Gas, Union Carbide, Merck, Pfizer, BayerCropScience & Schering Plough.
“Expediting” - visiting the manufacturer or his sub-contractor(s) site to monitor an order at predefined critical stages and reporting on progress against a manufacturing plan. Identifying at the earliest possible time, any factors which are likely to affect the ability of the supplier to deliver the equipment by the required date on site and where a delay appears likely, actively seeking to bring back on plan with appropriate action e.g., by arranging additional shifts, outsourcing, rescheduling other clients work.
The expediting engineer is only concerned with delivery of orders in his control and will utilise every means within his power to ensure these orders are given the highest priority at the manufacturer.
It is a fact of life that manufacturers do respond when an expeditor intervenes and is acting as the agent with the power of the ordering authority. The expeditor has personal authority based on his relationship with the supplier. Utilising his own knowledge of the manufacturing process and options available he is best placed to explore and persuade the supplier, whilst not compromising the client’s commercial position or technical requirements.
The expediting engineer will report to you by utilising the most appropriate medium for “you” i.e., telephone, fax, electronic mail or paper report, depending on the criticality of the information at his disposal at that time and how urgently “you” need to know.
